For Educators: Free Data Access for Your Classes

This website’s mission is to make international data accessible for research and education. To support educators, we provide free data access for classroom use, enabling educators to incorporate global data more easily into their teaching. The access includes all indicators and countries of our data base with no limits on the data downloads or data use.

How to Gain Access

To gain access, register on the data download page. Then contact us from your institutional email. Include the name of your college, university, or K-12 school and details about the classes where the data will be used. When the next semester begins, simply email us again to renew access.

Can Students Use the Data

Yes, you can download data sets and share them with your students. There are no restrictions on how the data is used, whether for assignments, term papers, or class discussions.

How to Cite the Data

We do not generate data series but compile them from multiple official sources. When referencing the data, please cite the original sources provided with the downloads instead of this website.

OER: No Data Use Restrictions

Data obtained through our free access program can be fully utilized for teaching purposes. This includes the ability to:
  • Retain – Save and store copies for future use.
  • Reuse – Apply the data in various educational contexts.
  • Revise – Modify or update the content as needed.
  • Remix – Combine with other data sources to create new materials.
  • Redistribute – Share freely with students.
These attributes make the data an Open Educational Resource (OER), ensuring flexibility and accessibility for educators and learners. The same applies to all other content on the website.
