The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is a United Nations agency dealing with questions related to tourism. The UNWTO represents public sector tourism bodies and plays a role in promoting the development of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism, focusing to the interest of developing countries.

The UNWTO is responsible for the collection and dissemination of statistical information on international tourism making it possible to compare the flow and growth of tourism on a global scale. The UNWTO is responsible for the publication of the World Tourism Barometer which monitors the short-term evolution of tourism and provides the sector with relevant and timely information.
