Inter-American Development Bank

The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB or IDB) was established in 1959 with the objective of supporting Latin American and Caribbean economic development, social development and regional integration by lending to governments and government agencies. The IDB is the largest source of development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean enabling it to make loans towards poverty reduction, sustainable energy and climate change, water and sanitation, infrastructure, as well as education initiatives.

The IDB produced several policy briefs and working papers that discuss the economic and social development as well as regional integration issues and that outline courses of action.
