Energy CPI generally encompasses two primary sub-categories:Household Energy: Electricity, piped and delivered gas, heating oil, and solid fuels.Motor Fuels & Lubricants: Gasoline, diesel, and other fuels used for personal transportation. Energy inflation is typically separated from food inflation and "core" inflation (all items less food and energy) to reveal the underlying drivers of a country's cost of living.
