Economic growth, percent change in quarterly real GDP in Costa Rica, March, 2020: The latest data from Q1 2020 show economic growth of 0.65 percent, which is a decrease from the rate of growth of 3.25 percent in the previous quarter and a decrease compared to the growth rate of 2 percent in the same quarter last year. The economic growth time series for Costa Rica cover the period from Q1 1992 to Q1 2020. During that time span, the average growth rate for Costa Rica was 4.3 percent. The lowest rate of growth of -2.67 percent was recorded in Q2 2009 while the highest growth rate was 13.79 percent in Q3 1992.
